Guidance for Guest Authors

Thank you for contributing to the European Journal of Oncology Pharmacy (EJOP) as a guest author. Please take a minute to read these guidelines, as it will facilitate the publication of your paper and help avoid unnecessary editing work.

EJOP is the official journal of the European Society of Oncology Pharmacy (ESOP) and is received by oncology pharmacists who are members of ESOP. There are currently 3,000 ESOP members within 29 EU and five non-EU countries.

It is important that your article is the correct length when submitted. The length of one page, including references and abstract with one picture or table, should be approximately 4,500 characters including spaces; for two pages 9,000 characters including spaces. The article title should have a maximum of 80 characters including spaces.

Author by-line should consist of a maximum of three authors, all additional authors will be listed at the end of the article. Please limit addresses to one per author.

Please start your article with a short abstract or summary of the content of about 300 characters including spaces. The text should be shortened accordingly if you choose to include diagrams, tables or pictures. Single-page articles should have no more than eight references, while 2- to 3-page articles may have up to 15 references (Vancouver style). You are welcome to provide suitable graphics if you wish. Please also provide a passport- style photograph of yourself in high quality jpg (over 150 KB) format. Finally, please include your contact/postal address (one only), email and/or telephone number for publication.

Although you are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information in the article, we may nevertheless have to make some editorial changes for a variety of reasons. For example, we are pleased to help you with the English, if this is not your native language. Unfortunately, we sometimes find ourselves compelled to make unexpected changes in the length of an article, or to postpone publication to a following issue. Therefore, it is only possible to give you an estimate of the actual publication issue. You will be sent a copy of your article for approval before publication (if any changes are made), and a copy of the actual journal after publication.

The guest author is recognized to be an authority on the subject of the article, and by inviting distinguished authors we ensure that a high standard of information is presented to our readers. On behalf of EJOP, we thank you in advance for your contribution.
